Video diary app

A video diary you actually watch back.

Most diary apps end up as a folder nobody opens. ONSE keeps one second of each day and plays the months back as a single film — full screen, one day flowing into the next.

A day from a ONSE video diary playing full screen on an iPhone

How the habit works

01

One second, once a day

Point the camera at whatever the day actually looked like. A second is short enough that you keep doing it.

02

It files itself

Each clip lands on its date. Nothing to name, sort or caption.

03

Watch it back

Any month, any year, or any stretch you pick, stitched into one film.

Why one second

A year of one-second clips is about six minutes. Short enough to sit through in one go, long enough that a whole year of your life is in it. Written diaries get skipped; a second of video takes less effort than a text message.

Your days stay on your phone and are yours alone by default. There's no feed, no profile and no follower count. When you want to share a recap, you download the file and post it wherever you like.

In a year, you'll wish you started today.

Your film begins with one second. Make today frame one.
