Why one second
A year of one-second clips is about six minutes. Short enough to sit through in one go, long enough that a whole year of your life is in it. Written diaries get skipped; a second of video takes less effort than a text message.
Your days stay on your phone and are yours alone by default. There's no feed, no profile and no follower count. When you want to share a recap, you download the file and post it wherever you like.
